Partner at MJAB, João Grognet built a career of nearly two decades at the top of the Federal Public Administration, establishing himself as one of the country’s leading references in credit recovery and fiscal strategy.
Before joining the firm, he served for 17 years as a National Treasury Attorney, during which he held highly strategic senior leadership positions, such as General Coordinator of Credit Recovery Strategies and Deputy Attorney General for the Active Debt of the Union and the FGTS.
His work was decisive in leading advisory and deliberative bodies, having chaired the Board of Directors of Casa da Moeda do Brasil and participated in strategic initiatives for national legal certainty, such as the Technical Advisory Program for the Implementation of the Tax Reform (PAT-RTC) and the Chamber for the Promotion of Legal Certainty in the Business Environment (SEJAN/AGU). In 2024, he was awarded the honor of Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Office of the Attorney General of the Union.
With a multidisciplinary vision, he combines Law with technology and governance, standing out in complex solutions involving tax settlements, liability management, and fiscal structuring. He is the author of books and specialized articles on Tax Law and anti-money laundering, and also serves as a Professor of Tax Law at IDP.
