A global model of sustainable humanitarian empowerment

Conceived from an initiative by MJAB, SHE was born from the partnership between the firm and Afghan judges welcomed in Brazil after the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan.

The project transformed a humanitarian action into a social impact platform, creating a think and do tank focused on the development of legal solutions and public policies for issues such as women’s rights, gender equality, forced migration, and human rights.

The firm provided legal, structural, and institutional support for the creation of the Institute, which now operates in comparative research, courses, publications, and partnerships in public initiatives, consolidating itself as a reference in the promotion of sustainable humanitarian empowerment.

MJAB is recognized with the CESA Gender Equity Seal, awarded by the Center for Studies of Law Firms (CESA) in partnership with TREE Diversidade. The seal certifies firms that demonstrate maturity and consistency in their policies of diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of women in leadership positions.

This recognition reinforces our commitment to building a plural, balanced, and sustainable environment, in which technical excellence goes hand in hand with social responsibility.

MJAB supports the Incluir Direito project, an initiative of the Center for Studies of Law Firms (CESA) aimed at promoting racial diversity in the legal market. Created to expand access for young Black students to the legal profession, the program strengthens the academic and professional development of these students through mentorships, courses, and integration with partner law firms.

MJAB’s support reflects the firm’s commitment to building a more plural, representative, and socially responsible legal profession.

MJAB is part of the Forum on Companies with Refugees, an initiative of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the UN Global Compact Brazil.

Participation in the forum reflects our commitment to social inclusion and diversity, encouraging corporate practices aimed at the hiring, training, and integration of refugees into the labor market.

MJAB supports educational initiatives that expand women’s access to legal and political training. Among them, the Legal Training in Political Violence Based on Gender and Race program, from the “What if it were you?” Institute, stands out, offering free training for women in vulnerable situations and strengthening their role in defending human rights and gender equality.

The project has nationwide reach and contributes to the development of new female leaders committed to building a more representative and inclusive justice system.

MJAB acts as legal partner to Grey Matter, an initiative that connects strategic legal knowledge to companies with the potential to generate economic and social impact in Brazil. The partnership includes structured legal support, participation on the company’s Board through partner Fernanda Burle, and technical contribution in the evaluation and structuring of complex legal projects, especially in challenging regulatory contexts. By supporting businesses that use the law as a tool for value creation and positive transformation, MJAB reinforces its commitment to corporate social responsibility, fostering the sustainable development of companies and the generation of impact for society.
